Job Description
Manna Project International, an Orlando-based nonprofit operating in Ecuador and the USA, fosters communities of talented young leaders to become the next generation of social change agents by engaging in collaborative, on-the-ground service with international communities in need. At our international sites, groups of 3 to 12-month volunteers live and work together implementing a range of health, education, and economic livelihood community development projects in geographically defined areas. These volunteers also help manage summer intern volunteers (5-10 weeks) and short-term groups (1-week volunteers, typically for Spring Break). The Volunteer Recruitment Manager (the Manager) is responsible for implementing organization-wide volunteer recruitment; and supporting communications relating to marketing, public relations and recruitment. The Recruitment Manager reports directly to the Director of Development.
Responsibilities of the Recruitment Manager:
Volunteer Recruitment: (70%)
The Manager is responsible for implementing MPI’s volunteer recruitment efforts. This includes:
Collaborating with Development Director on the co-creation of MPI’s annual recruitment plan
Building new relationships, and expanding existing ones, with college professors & staffers
Phoning and emailing college professors, international education staff, university clubs, and high school trip coordinators
Identifying college departments and individual contacts as prospects
Some visits in-person to U.S. colleges (around 2-4 weeks per year)
Partnering with third-party organizations and sites to market volunteer opportunities
Managing college Campus ambassadors and Campus chapters
Overseeing the volunteer application process including interest inquiries
Communications: (20%)
The Director is responsible for supporting the Development Director in implementing all MPI communications, including but not limited to the following:
Social Media and Blogs: creating & editing content on all social media outlets, including Facebook,Instagram, blogs, etc.
Recruitment Content: Collaborating with the Development Director to design MPI’s annual recruitment content.
Assistance with MannaMails: supporting the creation of the monthly e-newsletter
Assistance with Website: supporting content updates and a user-friendly experience of the website.
General Staff Support: (10%)
As a team member of MPI’s staff, the Manager will be available to take on small and/or short-term projects that may be outside the realm of direct responsibilities of their position to support other staff members and/or to further the overall purpose and benefit of the organization at large.
Job Requirements:
Passion and commitment to MPI’s model, mission and vision.
Solid relationship-building skills.
Experience working with college professors and international education staff.
Experience working directly with college students and volunteers.
An interest in community development and volunteer-led development, preferably with experience in Latin America
Interest in working for a small, ambitious nonprofit.
Self-motivated and ability to prioritize tasks with little supervision.
Experience working on diverse teams, with cross-cultural experience beneficial.
Strong oral communication skills, with comfort and ability to effectively communicate with a variety of college students and university professors.
Spanish language basics are beneficial.
Preference to be located near a cluster of U.S. colleges (e.g., Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Houston, etc).
Additional Information:
Salary: $40,000 to $50,000 per year, depending on experience & qualifications
Location: remote (2-4 weeks per yr visiting U.S. colleges)
Benefits:
2 weeks paid vacation, plus 11 U.S. national holidays paid
Up to $100/month (taxable income) towards the premium for employee-purchased medical insurance

Coverage of all work-related travel (transport, accommodations, not food) expenses.
Home office stipend of $300/yr
